Arizona Christian Counseling Academy does not certify counselors. For those seeking certification, we recommend The Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors (BCPPC) which is the credentialing body affiliated with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
Certification is open to mental health professionals, pastors, chaplains, and lay counseling ministry leaders. The BCPPC offers four board certifications across two tracks: a track for licensed and professional counselors (Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor and Board Certified Christian Counselor) and a track for pastoral and ministerial counselors (Board Certified Pastoral Counselor and Board Certified Biblical Counselor). See the BCPPC website for more information.
Required Education and Training
Each board certification with the BCPPC requires 60 or more hours of education and training beyond any required degree. This training must incorporate biblical principles with clinical theory, knowledge, and practice. The Biblical Counseling Master Course™ provides 6 hours of training and may apply toward this requirement. Additional coursework can be completed through Light University or Genesis CE.
